Class B: 15/01/2022 a 26/03/2022
Portugal is the world capital of tiles.
Tiles are one of the 12 European treasures and are one of the characteristics that make Portugal the “bluest” country in the world.
The word azulejo comes from the Arabic azzelij, which means small polished stone used to design mosaics.
– A tile is a square piece of ceramic with little thickness, being one of the surfaces glazed due to the firing of the coating that makes it shiny and waterproof. This surface can be painted with one or more colours, be smooth or embossed.
This course is intended to introduce students to the technique of painting the tile in cobalt blue, a colour inherited by Portugal from oriental porcelains, in the 17th century.
Class A: 60 Hours (20 Sessions)
Turma B: 33 Hours (11 Sessions)
Work carried out in the courses must be taken by the authors at the end. Works that remain on CPM’s premises are subject to being destroyed and discarded.
